AllSpain started with a family conversation that turned into a question neither of us could let go of: why is it so hard to plan a great trip to Spain?
It started on a beach day on the Mediterranean coast. Rebeca had joined Irene on one of her reporting trips with Onda Cero while visiting from California on a short summer vacation, this time to Mojácar, Almería. Between swims, they were doing what they always do — talking about Spain. Irene was describing the places her latest stories had taken her: a hilltop monastery where monks still make wine, a cliffside fishing village with no road in, a market in Seville that most tourists walk right past.
Rebeca, who has spent her career making the inaccessible accessible and easy to use, had a thought she couldn't shake: "What if we could turn everything you know into something people can actually use?"
Because here's the thing — Irene talks about these places on the radio, but listeners would need pen and paper to remember what she said. She writes about specific destinations, but a traveler coming to Spain needs more than one article — they need a connected, cohesive experience that lasts a week. They need to know where to sleep, what to book ahead, when to eat, and how to get from Seville to Granada without wasting a day.
What if they created AllSpain?
Irene had spent two decades criss-crossing Spain as a travel journalist, writing for publications like La Vanguardia, broadcasting on Onda Cero, and filing stories for Viajar magazine. She knew the courtyard restaurant in Córdoba that doesn't have a sign. The family-run asador in Castilla that's been open since 1952. The viewpoint above Ronda where you can hear nothing but wind.
AllSpain takes all of that knowledge — decades of notebooks, contacts, and instincts — and turns it into a personalized, day-by-day itinerary that anyone can use in minutes.
Every recommendation traces back to a published article, a verified source, or first-hand experience. We don't scrape TripAdvisor or regurgitate the internet's greatest hits.
We're not a generic tool that covers 190 countries. Our entire database, every article, every recommendation is Spain-specific. That depth is why we find places other tools can't.
Irene personally selects and writes the source material. There's no algorithm choosing what goes into our database — just a journalist who knows what makes a trip unforgettable.
We designed AllSpain specifically for travelers who've never been to Spain. We handle the things that trip people up — meal times, booking lead times, regional differences, realistic driving distances.
We built AllSpain because we believe the best trips come from local knowledge, not algorithms. Every itinerary we generate draws from Irene's curated library of articles — places she's visited, restaurants where she knows the owner, routes she's driven at sunset.
We're a small team, and we're still in the early days. If you've used AllSpain and have feedback, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. This is the kind of product that gets better with every conversation.
Tell us how you travel. We'll show you the Spain most visitors never find.
